The volunteers’ recruiting for the Special Olympics World Winter Games 2022 has commenced in Kazan. 2,250 volunteers with go through the recruiting campaign out of 4,500 applications submitted.

Recruiting is the most important stage of a volunteer campaign, when each candidate is being interviewed: preferences, their skills, competencies, experience, command of the English language are verified. Based on the interview results, the candidate is offered the most suitable position. It is known that the Games volunteers will be involved in over 20 functional areas, including sports, technology, spectators services, medicine, DALs, media operations, arrivals and departures, protocol, and many others.

“Now recruiting is conducted online, but in a couple of weeks we will open a recruiting center equipped with everything needed for live interviews in a comfortable environment. The volunteers’ selection will last until September 2021, and then there will begin the training of the selected candidates,” Alexander Karpov, Deputy Director General of the ANO “Directorate for Sports and Social Projects” tells.

Let us remind that the Special Olympics World Winter Games will take place in Kazan on January 22-28, 2022. Games sports program will comprise competitions in seven sports: alpine skiing, snowboarding, floorball, cross country skiing, figure skating, short track speed skating, and snowshoeing. The event will bring together over 2,000 athletes with intellectual disabilities and Unified Partners from 100 countries.
