The Families Program is aimed to service up family members who decide to travel to the World Games to cheer their athletes. Its goal is to ensure a safe and inviting environment for visiting family members to best enjoy sport competition and have quality interaction with fellow local and international family members.
Who are defined as family members?
The following criteria shall be used to define a family member – the person is any individual who is related to an athlete participating in the World Games who is:
- The husband, wife, partner or child of the competing athlete
- A blood relative of the athlete (e.g. mother, father, sibling, grandparent, uncle, aunt, nephew, niece, cousin, and a relative related by marriage or a partner of a blood relative)
- The competing athlete’s legal guardian, foster partner or caregiver
- An individual involved with the competing athlete in a parenting role

All registration forms must be submitted by 15 October 2021.
In addition to the COVID vaccination requirements, we will be implementing on-site COVID prevention protocols including requirements for masking, distancing, sanitization, and hygiene in line with the Special Olympics Global Return to Activities protocol and Russian Federation regulations. Specific protocols for each client group will be distributed in the Fall to all registered participants.
